Statue of Liberty

    This stamp was issued primarily for use on airmail matter destined for Europe and certain parts of Northern Africa. The Statue of Liberty and the words “Liberty for All” are pictured. Dedicated on October 28, 1886, Lady Liberty was a welcome sight for many immigrants who landed in New York Harbor. She is a symbol of the liberty they were seeking in their new land.
