BRITISH OCEANIA – British Oceania is scattered throughout vast expanses of the Pacific bringing together a wide variety of different islands, where common denominator is frequently the fact that they all resemble paradise! That celebration of tropical paradise down under comes through on stamps as if they were idyllic holiday postcards. This two volume collection of few thousand stamps is a beautiful manifestation of that! The collection covers loosely about half a century long period running from the 1930s and spilling into the 1980s on its opposite terminus presented in a pair of Minkus albums. The collection includes a kaleidoscope of different countries, but some of the larger or more noteworthy include Australia (including numerous NH sets from the 1930s), Solomon Islands, Cook Islands, Fiji, Nauru, New Zealand, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Pitcairn Islands, and Tonga, among them with few smaller ones tucked in between! All throughout the collection includes numerous definitive sets from the midcentury period celebrating Queen Elizabeth II running into the high values be it pounds, shillings, or local dollars!
