The Dawk, or Dak, is an old postal service in Asia that is carried by runners. The Dak postage rate was based on the weight and distance the parcel was to be delivered. Sir Bartle Frefre of the East India Company created a postal system that has a flat rate for all distances, and he employed a stamp embossed with seal wax.
