U.S. #1075 was issued to commemorate the Fifth International Philatelic Exhibition (FIPEX) held in New York in 1956. It was produced in small quantities for collectors, and features enlargements of the 1954-61 Liberty Series 3¢ and 8¢ stamps. U.S. #1075b is the single 8¢ stamp. More than 250,000 collectors attended the event. Ten years later, the International Philatelic Exhibition broke with tradition and began traveling to other cities in the United States.
