Souvenir Sheets, collection of 7

  • Description
In the 1930s, the US Post Office Department frequently issued special souvenir sheets to coincide with world’s fairs and philatelic exhibitions. With this special offer you can get nearly all of the souvenir sheets issued between 1933 and 1937 (except for the special printing sheets of 1935). Each of the sheets pictures a stamp or stamps that had been printed previously, however the sheets were not perforated and some were also ungummed. The sheets also have information in the selvage about the events they were issued for. Set includes: US #730 – Restoration of Fort Dearborn – The original stamp was issued for the Century of Progress Exposition in Chicago. It was re-issued as a 25-stamp imperforate souvenir sheet without gum for the American Philatelic Society convention, also in Chicago.
